A Virtuously Indestructible Book Full of Bible Stories and Little Prayers

I bought this book for my son and his wife to read to their new baby daughter. The pages are very, very thick--a baby could sit on your lap and help turn the pages. THE BABY BIBLE STORYBOOK has short little stories and it is very interactive. For example, the first story is about how God Made Everything. Then you tell your baby to close her eyes to see how dark it is, and then open her eyes and see the light that God made when he made the moon, sun, and stars. Then tell the baby to, "Point to yourself, because God made you!" Then there is a very brief prayer, "Thank you, God, for making me. Amen." There are about twenty stories in this book with about two-thirds being from the Old Testament. The children will learn about Jonah, Daniel, Abraham and Joshua and many others before turning to the New Testament. Here we have stories about Jesus, Paul, and Peter. The brightly colored illustrations with the simple activities and brief prayers are included in every story and will make the Bible come alive for your youngster. What a fabulous introduction to the Holy Word for a child.

Great Bible for very small children

My daughter started having these short little Bible stories read to her at 1 year old. She's now 3 and still loves it. I use it at church with my preschool group. It's a great beginners Bible.

A great devotional Bible for very young children

One of my goals with all four of my children is to instill in them the desire to have a daily quiet time with the Lord, and so I do a short devotion with each of them before bedtime. I am using the Baby Bible Storybook with my 22-month-old. It is a hand-me-down from Big Sister, and has served us well through the years. With bright, eye-catching illustrations, simple text, hand-motions, and an easy-to-mimic prayer at the end of each story, it is perfect as a devotional Bible for very young children. My older daughter used it until she was about 3 1/2.

It's never too early to start teaching your baby about Jesus

I love this book and so does my 5 mo. old baby! The pictures are very bright and colorful. The content is perfectly designed for babies and on up to toddlers. I give this book as a baby gift to all our friends and family. It makes a wonderful gift. I have given over 25 away in the last two years. Everyone loves them . On the front page there is an area for you to write who the bible is to and who it is from along with the date. I think that this makes the baby bible very special.

Just what we wanted! Our two year old asks for it each night

I couldn't imagine a better, gentler introduction to Christian teachings. Each of the Bible stories consists of a very brief page of text, facing a cheerful picture. All the familiar stories are there -- Noah's ark; David & Goliath; the birth of Jesus, etc. After each sentence of the story, there's something for your toddler to do. (``Clap your hands'' after we hear that Noah closed the door to the ark, for example.) Then at the end of each lesson is a very simple prayer. ``Dear God, help me be strong so I can help others. Amen.'' Our hearts melt when our son stumbles his way through the words. The text is upbeat and nicely phrased so that Catholics and Protestants can feel comfortable with it.
