The Very Best Texas Gardening Book I Have

I recently moved to Texas, a completely different climate compared to where I used to live and garden. I knew I had a lot to learn, and ordered about a half-dozen different books on gardening in Texas. This one has been by far the most useful, and the one I refer to again and again as I start planting my first Texas garden. Whether you are an organic gardener or not, there is tons of useful information to be found here: detailed info on tons of different vegetables, organic solutions to various problems, how to build healthy soil, etc. My favorite thing about this book, is that the author breaks the state up into climate zones and then has these very handy charts, one for spring planting, and one for fall planting, and tells the best dates to plant particular veggies, depending on the specific area of Texas you are in. So with us heading into September here, it's very easy for me to look at this table, find the column for my climatic zone, and see what I am able to plant now, and what I can plant in a few weeks, or next month, and what I should wait until spring to plant. With Texas being such a huge state, it is just so great to see it broken up into zones and handled this very convenient way. I have a few other books by this author and love them all, but this one has been the most useful for me, and the one I would recommend if you main focus is veggies.
