A Short Trip Back in Time to My Own Childhood

I have to say that I enjoyed reading Jerry Spinelli's little book (148 pages) and was reminded of a simpler time, when summer never seemed to end, and there was Bonomo's Turkish Taffy and Hopalong Cassidy, and everyone lived in a house with only one bathroom and one telephone and one TV...and, lest I forget, only one car per family. Memories of my own childhood came back to me with every short chapter (each was only a few pages long). I won't compare it to Bill Bryson's humorous book about his growing up in Iowa during the 50s entitled THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE THUNDERBOLT KID. My experiences were closer to those of Mr. Spinelli's, having grown up in urban Irvington, NJ. But both books were entertaining, and will probably be appreciated more by adults in the 50 to 60-something age bracket. I do recommend them highly.

I think that these are really important thing to always know. I think that this book is great for kids that like to learn new things and that like action, drama and real life situations. I would recommend this book for kids from the ages of 10 to 16 because this book has things about all of these ages and how some things change as you get older. I think that all kids should read this book no matter what kind of books you usually read. Because I think that you would enjoy this book as well besides the books that you are use to. So try something new and get out of your shell and brake out of the ordinary. This book is so great! It tells all about Jerry Spinelli's childhood in big events in his life. It is very humerous and touching. It talks about his dreams and accomplishments as a kid and how they effected him as a person and as an author. I highly recommend you read this book!
