Spss 7.5 Guide to Data Analysis - follow up to review above

I have just completed reviewing this book for an undergraduate psychology course and was extremely pleased by the fact that it was not just another menu guide (something you have to look out for when purchasing SPSS guides!!). The book covers most material that you will need and if you complete (and understand!!) the exercises, you can consider yourself pretty well clued up on the use of SPSS. The book's only failure is the depth in which it covers concepts involved in statistics, but that is understable as it is supposed to be a software guide and not a statistics textbook.One of the reviews above mentions that the book does not cover 2-way ANOVA, but I would like to refer him to chapter 15 (P.279) for a full explanation as to why, when and how to use 2-way ANOVA.The book could do with a companion release for those not fully grounded in statistics, so that they can fully appreciate some of the more tricky concepts involved in the subject, but I would have no hesitation in recommending this book over any of the other fifty or so titles available.

It is a good book for beginners and students

I really enjoyed this book because the supporting theory was included. Many SSPS books are guides of the menu system, and this book avoided that tendency. It does lack an explanation of ANOVA repeated measures and block designs. But for basic statistics, its fine.
