UltraViolet is Ultracool!

I bought both Nate Banks book such as Secret Identity Crisis & the sequel called Freezer Burner on a whim.When I was a kid & saw simular books about super heroes, I never bought them & shyed away from them. Why? Because I felt it was written by some hack who couldn't get into the comic book(I was already a collector of comics myself & this was the way I thought back then) biz & was using this as a backdoor entrance or that it wasn't a real comic. I was wrong on both accounts! Secret Identity Crisis is a great book!It's a comic book in every sense of the word! I won't spoil the plot, but it's an original concept which is hard to come across in comic books these days & it's filled with neat little twists & turns. It also gives you an idea what it might be like to have a ine in ine cinversation with a super hero like UltraViolet. I was also suprised that their was reference to the comic that added inside! Plus I'd like the way they mentioned the fights UltraViolet was in on the evening news & it made me think back when I was a kid daydreaming what it would be like if SpiderMan had a battle on my street or what it would like to be able to fly like SuperMan or run as fast as The Flash. I also enjoyed the ending surprise twist to the story! If your kids love super hero comic books or stories about people who have powers this book is for them! Now I can't wait to find out what happens in book two!

Fun Read

I read this book in between some heavier novels and it was really refreshing and fun. It is written in such a way that I believe the intended audience can relate to and learn what it is to be a super-hero. I really loved the speech that the main character, Nate, gives. Definitely will check out book two!!!

Great New Series

Great new series for kids, pre teens, and fun loving adults! What a great surprise! I was looking for a new series to get started on and this one was a winner. It sets the stage for exciting things to come, with a great hero at the center of the story, with Nate Banks. For those looking for what will truly be the next big thing, you should rush out and get this book and give it to your kids to read. I already have the first two, and am looking forward to the third. Full of action, excitement, cool comic book references, and some neat lessons for kids about perseverance! A winner!
