This is a great book about herbs and their uses

If you want the knowledge of herbs this is the book for you

An encyclopedia of herbs?

I bought this book for my herbal medicine course... thinking it would have all herbs n in depth information on each one. Disappointed. I didn't need the folklore, how to make dye from plants or recipes, quotes etc..I wanted an encyclopedia on herbs. A lot of herbs I have to work with for school are missing. I believe the information on the one's listed could be in more detail. I did like the basic history, somewhat, but I would lose interest once the author started putting quotes in there n superstitions. Then you're flipping pages back n forth, to this section n that section, regarding different subjects of the plant. If you want just a herbal encyclopedia, this book isn't it.

best book on herbs i have found

This book covers all the bases: harvesting, storing, cooking, sachets, medicinal uses.... on and on. I've used mine so much it is falling apart! I bought this book years ago for over $26 and it was worth it then! Its a steal now!

excellent, for medicinal ,growing, crafts and culinary

this book is great for experienced herbalist and the beginner. It covers medicinal properties and folklore.You get growing info and culinary suggestions. This book also gives craft ideas and dyeing properties. It lets you know what's safe and what's not.Great reference book to have on hand.
