Kimi ni Todoke

Just finished reading volume 4 and enjoyed it a lot. This series is not my top favorite by any means but it is something I enjoy more with each volume. It is definitely not a masterpiece but it has its way of making you attached to the characters. I like Kazehaya and Sawako's relationship in that it is not rushed and it is taking its time developing and maturing. I am getting bored of typical shoujo romance that starts so fast and ends with a happy note. I sure want Kazehaya and Sawako to be more open to each other but this relationship is cute and interesting enough to make me anticipate what is coming next. Of course, there are rivals but I am glad to say that I don't hate any of the characters in this series. Kurumi is Sawako's main rival so far but she is not that bad to make me hate her. I wouldn't say she is much of a rival, though, as Kazehaya never looked at her that way. Actually, I feel sorry for her more than hatred. I am also interested in Sanada, Chizu, and Yano-chin. I want to see more of them especially that now we know Sanada has a thing for Chizu. As I said, not my top favorite but it is something I would keep reading until the end. Sometimes I cannot understand why people are crazy about it as there is nothing special or unique but I am sure it is a series easy to fall in love with and enjoy. Thanks VIZ Media for bringing such great shoujo titles.
