Helpful or not buy this book

I never even finished the game but the first part i have no doubt. But when I started to read this i just had to buy it and wanted to know who BlackRose really was. I never though she would be the kind of person she was in real life in the book then how different she was in the game. I was suprised and just could stop reading from start to finish. She made me wish that i was in her shoes o be ablt oplay in the games aong side Kite and have those awsome controls, i was completly jealous. The real BlackRose was so suprising i had to keep on reaing to find out why she played and why she acted the way she does.

.hack//another birth Infection rocks!

I read the first two novels ( .hack// AI Buster vol.1 and 2) They were great. I loved how they showed somones different point of view instead of looking at Kite, Balmung, or Elk. Well anyway .hack//another birth, infection or as I'd like to call it (HABI) looked at Akira's point of view, her struggles, failures and much more in this novel. The read was great. I really wanted to turn the next page. But then I said to myself ( It's 1:24 in the morning I better just finish up this chapter and get myself to sleep.) Thats how much it drawed me in! For some odd reason all of the novels I've read that where based off of anime's or manga's have been really great. The author of HABI said he was writing 2 other parts to HABI. I can't wait! And last I STRONGLY reconmend this book to fans of the .hack series or no wait...to anyone! If you love a book with a dose of drama, a bit of action and a pintch of Sci-Fi go and run over to you nearest book store and buy this book! It's only [...]!

An excellent novel for .hack fans.

This is the first book in a series of novels that tell the story of the .hack video game series from the perspective of Akira Hayami, the Japanese teenager who plays the character of BlackRose. Akira is just a normal teenage girl, who doesn't even like video games much. She prefers to concentrate on her studies and on doing the best she can as a member of her school's tennis team. But when Akira's younger brother, Fumikazu, falls into a coma while playing the popular online role playing game "The World," her priorities change. She decides she will do whatever necessary to save her brother, and she believes the video game is likely responsible. So she creates a character, BlackRose, and enters The World, where she meets Kite, the main character from the games. Kite's best friend also fell into a coma while playing the game, and now he's on a quest to save him. BlackRose decides to help him, and the two uncover the horrifying truth that The World is not just a game and there is real danger in playing it. I'm a big fan of the .hack series, particularly the video games, so I was very eager to read this novel when I saw it would be coming out in English. I'm happy to say I was not at all disappointed. Akira's point of view gives a fresh perspective to the story, so that it doesn't seem like just an exact repeat of the games. I definitely plan to read the rest of the books in this series when they are released, and I would recommend this book to all .hack fans.
