A Piece of Brilliance in Your Hand, cont....

Just because most reviews are by kids doesn't mean this is a kiddie comic. The artwork, storyline, and violence is all a treat. Read Vols. 1-5 first, and then read this one. To read DBZ more often, read Shonen Jump magazine. For a more detailed review read my editorial for DBZ Vol. 1, "This is a masterpiece" and for you DBZ readers already, read my other review "A Piece of Brilliance in Your Hand" for Vol. 5

Dragon Ball Z Graphic Novel 6

Freeza and his minions continue their ruthless search for Planet Namek's Dragon Ball, leaving not a single Namekian alive in their wake! When Kuririn and Gohan attempt a daring rescue of a Namekian child, they become involved in a deadly game of hide-and-seek with the murderous Dodoria. But after escaping one alien brute, Kuririn and Gohan discover they've got another to deal with, Vegeta! The Saiyan they never wanted to see again is back, and like Freeza he too is searching for the Namekian Dragon Balls in a mad quest for immortality. Will Goku make it to Namek in time? And even if he does, can he possible stop both Freeza and Vegeta before either of their ambitions are realized?

What else is there to say?

If you've read any of the Dragonball manga issues, you've got to get the graphic novels as well. These are much more sturdy and more in book form. Since Funimation ruined the american version of Dragonball Z, you can now read what Toriyama-san really made, or you could spend a fortune on the subtitled japanese videos and DVDs, but this is so much less exspensive and portable.

For lost friends, they will brave the greatest threats.

The Namek Saga begins with a bang (no pun intended) as Kuririn and Gohan play hide-and-seek with Vegeta and and his ex-boss,the evil Freeza, while trying to save a little Namekian named Dende and find the Namekian Dragon Balls so they can bring Kami-Sama, Chaozu, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Piccolo back to life. After seeing what power Freeza's forces are packing as well as Vegeta's newly developed ablitiy to sense Chi, things aren't looking too good for our heros until Bulma learns that Goku is on his way to Namek and Dende tells them of The Great Elder, the parent of all Namekians, who might beable to help them...if they promise to save Namek. Beautifully drawn and wonderfully told, this is yet another masterpiece in the DragonBall/DragonBall Z saga. Check out the Title Page Gallery in the back, two of the pictures will make you laugh. Enjoy!
