Finally a Crock Pot book that I love!!!

I love cooking & I'm always looking for new recipes to try. I own about 25 cookbooks, and until now I've never found any of the slow cooker cookbooks that I've like until now. I totally love this book; most of the ingredients' in the book I mostly always have on hand. I have created wonderful recipes that are not the typical boring slow cooker recipes that are in most books.

Great resource for crock pot cooking!

What a great cookbook. I wanted to find some crock pot recipes, and this book has lots that I would actually cook, with ingredients I would actually have!

Practical and easy

I initially bought this cookbook for myself wanting new recipies for meals I could have made ahead of time and ready to eat when we get home from work. I am an established cook with a whole cupboard full of cookbooks, yet I felt this would be a beneficial addition to my collection. I have 2 children in their 20's who obviously didn't spend much time in the kitchen. As I paged through this cookbook, I couldn't get them out of my mind thinking that even they could make these meals. I bought each of them one of these books, along with a crockpot for Christmas. They loved it! What I like best about this book is that the recipes are practical, easy to assemble, use readily available ingredients, and are affordable. There is a nice mixture of old fashioned meals and more contemporary ones. There definately is something for everyone. I would recommend this book to people of all cooking abilities who want to make good home-cooked meals with little effort. Sidenote: I made the Cinn-Sational Swirl Cake (yes, cake in a crockpot) for a party, and it was to die for!!!

wonderful resource

I borrowed this book from a friend who said I could only have it for 24 hours =) That was a week ago. I don't want to give it back! I started at the beginning of the book, flagging recipes that I wanted to copy. By the time I got midway through the book, I gave up and decided to find my own copy. This book has a plethora of interesting and unusual crock pot recipes, along with some old standards. Some examples : Nacho Chicken and Rice wraps, BBQ beef sanwiches,pork loin with sherry and red onions, spinach gorgonzola corn bread, lemon chicken, apricot glazed pork roast, brownie bottoms, rustic ham and potato chowder, Thai style chicken pumpkin soup, Mediterranean chicken breast and wild rice, breakfast bake, stuffed chicken breast. I can't wait to get my own and start trying some of these recipes.
