Good study guide

Excellent for reviewers and good for beginners like myself. I learned everything about economics only from this book and took both practice tests. I got 3 on both because I couldn't get enough practice out of this book. So I recommend beginners to get supplements with more practice tests or ask your teacher for worksheets.

Worthwhile

I agree completely with the reviewer above in that using this book alone almost guarantees a 3. I used it without the courses and got 4's on both the macro and micro exams. Write those note cards for small concepts and study past AP extended response questions! They are all basically the same, so study the graphs and you'll do well.

Everything you need to know, and nothing more.

We don't have economics at my school, but it's my intended college major.Using THIS BOOK ALONE, I made note cards, went over them, and got a 4 on the Micro exam in my junior year. If I'd put in a little more effort, I'd have gotten a 5 (didn't begin studying until mid-April). I'm going to take the Macro this May.There is a really clear review of all the concepts you need to know, presented exactly as they will appear on the test. It's concise, straightforward, and explicates the necessary graphs. For extra Free Reponse practice, check the AP website.I'd strongly recommend it.

Excellent for review

David Anderson's CRACKING THE AP ECONOMICS EXAM is an excellent study guide for both Advanced Placement economics exams. He covers all valid topics at just the right depth -- the material doesn't feel as tedious as that in a textbook, yet effectively covers the necessary information. I'd estimate that reading the entire book very carefully cover-to-cover should take no longer than twelve hours for even a slow reader.I purchased this book with the intention of using it to review for my AP Microeconomics Exam, on which I scored a 5. I only used this book (I didn't go over notes or my textbook) so it is a testament to its thoroughness. Additionally, I chose to take the AP Macroeconomics, which I did not take a class for. I read the Macroeconomics section in this book and was able to score a 4. While I'm not guaranteeing such excellent results for you, I am definitely pleased with my own personal experience with CRACKING THE AP ECONOMICS EXAM.In short, a highly recommended purchase for those planning to take either AP Economics exam.

My new favorite economics book is here! This completely thorough book is easy to follow and includes the most difficult to understand economic concepts, but makes them easily understandable. The extensive demonstration of graphs and the use of examples readers can relate to are winning features of this publication. Not only does it include all the information that one will need and more, it is easy to understand. This is by far the most helpful AP book yet! It would also be a great book to have for quick review purposes.
