Very Useful

The solutions manual was very helpful when I was trying to figure out how to answer a few Chemistry questions. It gives a very good step by step procedure how to answer the questions.

review for Chemistry:The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change by Silberberg

I used this textbook in my freshman year of college. It is a good buy because in my case it was used for all three introductory chemistry courses. This paperback is a good alternative to the hardcover since it is significantly cheaper and slightly lighter.

I think it is a great text

I was out of school for a long time, in fact, 16 years since I had high school Chemistry, so I was really nervous about taking a tough Chemistry course. I ended up doing great and I honestly believe you can learn the material from the text only. I think it is an excellent text with problems and examples that facilitate learning. My Physics text, on the other hand, is AWFUL!

The best science majors' chemistry book I've seen

While I would hesitate to recommend this to someone who had never taken high school chemistry, as a second year high school book and a science majors' level college text, this book is fantastic. Comparing it to an old version of Brady & Humiston, and Zumdahl's Introductory Chemistry, Silberberg wins hands down. Fantastic layout and detailed explanations of most topics. Not good for the most basic topics (don't even think about learning oxidation-reduction reaction balancing from this text).
