Leading Edge Guide

This book is just as relevant for 2010 as it was in its first printing. In my research, only one or two percent of cities and counties across the country have really studied the issues around growth and development. So the book actually still contains very much leading-edge thinking for most communities. This book explains the growth and development issues as well as anything in print. It is easy to read and to understand. It refutes the blanket assumption that any development is automatically good for a local government- and it supplants that assumption with a practical set of working principles and practices. Anyone interested in land use should read this book: concerned citizen, planning commissioner, or city councilman. It won't take that much of your time, but it will give you a new, more complete perspective on the topic where so much money is being spent.
