Coop and his partner try to convince Monica that her safest position would be in a safe house. She was not convinced, until a horrible experience shook her to her core. Suspense and action!

Against All Odds is full of suspense and action that make it hard to put down! The characters were real and believable and fun to get to know, even though they were in an intense situation. Okay, honestly I do have one complaint on this book. I know this is very shallow, but it's the cover. If I saw this book in a store it wouldn't have grabbed my attention. That is not at all how I pictured the characters and I like forming my own images. In fact, while I was reading I would get distracted mid-sentence when the deer-in-the-headlights guy on the cover would override my own image of Coop. So there you go, my own personal pet peeve. :o) Now, since that is the only complaint I have on this book, I highly recommend it if you like action and suspense along with a good dose of romance. It's easy to read and not too complex where you'd get lost. I liked how both Coop and Monica got under each other's skin even though they both had reasons for not wanting to pursue it. The intense situations these characters faced had me on the edge of my seat. Just as I'd start to relax something else comes up. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series!

As usual Irene Hannon wrote an intriguing, romantic story. It was a "can't put it down" book. She is my favorite author.
