Great source of SAT practice tests

Back before 1994, the SAT was much different and much harder. Only an elite 5-7 people would score a 1600 each year out of the 1,000,000 test takers. These tests are from those days. Sure, the questions nowadays are different -- we don't have analogies, antonyms, as dense reading passages, etc., but they're still good tests nonetheless to practice our verbal and mathematical reasoning skills. Plus, since these tests are MUCH harder than today's exam, taking the real thing after practicing on these is a proverbial walk in the park. If you're out of tests and are looking for a goldmine of 10 SAT practice tests made by the ETS, then pick up a used copy of this...it's very, very helpful.

Must buy

First of all, I am not an intelligent kid. Infact, I scored extremely poor in my PSAT (bottom 50% nationally.) So the day I got my scores I decided I wasn't going to to the same thing on the real SATs. I've read Kaplan, Barron's, Princeton, Rea, Arco, vocabulary builders, and I gotten the Ten Real SATs. I've studied my brains out; and it helped. I scored Math : 610 Verbal 560 and I plan on taking them again in October. I've studied over 100 hours just for the SATs and I'll tell you as succinctly as possible how to raise your score. Buy 10 REAL SATs, Princeton's Review, Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis, Peterson's SAT Word flash 2002. These books will be a LIFE SAVER. That is in order, so if only want to buy 2-3 books, get those. They will, if you study, raise your score dramatically. I plan on getting in the 1200's next time I take the SATs, and it would be absurd to say that if I didn't have the motivation or these books.also If you are planning, or wondering what it takes to get in top tier schools; I suggest, 'College Admissions Trade Secrets' by Andrew Allen. This book will motivate you and show you, what you need to do to get into your 'dream school.'I can't stres this enough; if you actually want to raise your SAT scores, and you are serious about it. This is a MUST HAVE book.

The only way to go....

I bought my 10 real book, because it was recommedned to me at an SAT workshop. I will never regret spending the money. Since it gives you 10 real, used before SAT's it is most helpful to the first time test taker to learn the format, mainly the fact that you shouldn't answer every question on the SAT. I took the November 2000 test, and I actually saw an analogy question I had seen before in my 10 Real book. (This is because all SAT questions are recycled). The book also contains strategies. If nothing else, give your friends and family a test you have already practiced with, and let them give it a try to see how smart they are. It will make you feel better. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially a first time tester with at least 2-3 weeks for practice. I have used most of the other SAT prep books, and this is king of the hill, no need buying the others. Good Luck!

10 Real SATs gets Real results.

This book is the real deal. Before taking the SAT in May 1999, I studies with the Princeton Review book. I got a 1290, 60 points below my goal. I decided to try out the 10 Real SAT book while prepping the November 1999 test. I got a 1390 (720 Math, 670 Verbal). The book familiarized me with the type of questions, how to attack each section, etc. Instead of using gimmicks (like recommended in the Princeton Review book), I practiced 10 real SATs and got a feel of how to work the SAT. It paid off, as my scores show. Having used 2 different books, I can say with confidence that the 10 Real SATs book is THE way to prep for the SAT.

Best SAT I Study Guide

This is not a book to help you crack the SAT I. It gives you 10 real tests from the past, so you know exactly what to expect on your own SAT I. Many of the questions will probably show up again in future tests. But the real help comes from allowing you to be totally familiar with the SAT I.Ten years ago I used this book to help me get a 680 on the verbal section - just a year after I came to America and started learning English. My advice: take all the tests, analyze what you missed, and you'll see the results!
