The Perfect Husband

Tess fell in love with police officer Jim Beckett when she was a 17 year old high school cheerleader.....three years after their marriage, she helped put him behind bars for brutally murdering over ten women!! Not wanting to spend the rest of her life running in fear with her daughter, she decides to take matters in her own hands and hires an ex-marine, JT, to teach her how to defend herself and use a gun.....you see, Jim has escaped the maximum security prison and Tess knows he'll eventually find her!! This was much grittier than her other great book, The Other Daughter, therefore it's not for everyone....I skipped over a few paragraphs that I found to be too violent for me....however, the author did an outstanding job at keeping us on the edge of our seats..........I was holding my breath towards the end of the book!! Don't read it at night......!!

The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner is a story that is hard to top when it comes to the suspense department. A compelling story that had me glued to my seat! Great job by this writer!

This is my first book by Lisa Gardner, and it will definitely not be my last. This book grabs you from the beginning and won't let go. Once you pick it up, good luck putting it down. I loved the characters and Jim Beckett is one creepy villian and a master of disguise. You'll be looking in the closets and over your shoulder when you read this one!

Finding his way through a hellish childhood, J.T. came out scarred, especially since he knew that he didn't protect his younger sister, Marion, from their father. Now, after two weeks training with Tess, everything with Beckett comes to head and J.T. knows that he will not lose another woman that he loves.

The Perfect Husband is an exceptional story about a pyshcopath who is not only sly, but intelligent as well. Continually escaping authorities, Beckett knows that no one will ever be able to catch him. Gardner does an extrodinary job of portraying a killer. The romance that was mixed in was intense and erotic, but didn't take away from the suspense of the story.

A co-worker handed me this book and insisted I read it. Once I started, I didn't put it down until 2AM that night. This is one of the most suspenseful books I have ever read, with a villain so heart-stoppingly evil that you will constantly look over your shoulder as you are reading. It's only shortcoming is in the romance department. Although, Tess Williams and JT Dillon are sexy and strong protagonists, they seem to fall in more in lust than love and their sexual relationship is rougher than one might expect a woman who was physically abused by her father and terrified by her serial killer husband to enjoy. But this slight oversight does not detract from the overall enjoyment of this very well crafted thriller. Highly recommended!!!!!!!
