If you're one of the lucky ones who managed to grab this paperback edition of "Debt of Bones" be sure to take a look at the inside publishing information--it lists the author as "Robert Jordan" instead of Terry Goodkind! The books with this error have been recalled so they can be destroyed and the correct ones can be printed--shame on the publisher for such a HUGE error!!

Overall exceptional book though!! :) Loved reading some background information on Zedd--wish it'd gone more into his life with his wife and daughter and, perhaps, a young Richard. but that's just me ;)

  Great light reading

This book is a must read for anyone who's read the Sword of Truth series, (and anyone thinking of reading it). This a great lead-in to the series. It's short and easy to read, but fills in a lot of detail in those few pages. If tells you a lot about Zedd and Abby when they were much younger. It draws you in immediately, and holds your attention through the entire book. There's no philosophizing like has been the norm in the last few books in the series. I recommend this highly.

First Wizard Zedd is Awesome in this book.

While the story is a bit shorter that his usual 700+ page books, it was facinating to learn about Zedd in his early years. To find out what a first wizard was responcible for and his role in bring up the barriers.

A great SHORT story telling of the rise of the boundaries

While this book wasn't on the same level as the other books by Goodkind (meaning that its not an epic story of 700+ pgs) this short novella is still great. It tells a story that has desperately needed some clarification in relatively few pages. Zedd is a badass who cannot be stopped and the other characters in this one don't distract the reader from the main purpose of the story. I can understand how some fans could be disapointed, but you can't expect an epic tale about a time gone past and a story that you already know the outcome of. For anyone interested in Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, I would reccomend this book. It doesn't take much time (one day) and adds to the realism of Goodkind's world.

A completely revised edition of Goodkind's epic

Terry Goodkin's Debt Of Bones presents a completely revised edition of Goodkind's epic from the Sword of Truth series, including a specially commissioned new introduction by Goodkind and new full-page illustrations by Keith Parkinson. It predates Wizard's First Rule and thus will serve as an excellent introduction to newcomers to Goodkind's fantasy magic and worlds.
