Most people do not give this movie the second chance that it needs. The first time I watched it, I didn't like it. The second time, I realized the depth of the movies meaning. It deals with soooo many of todays issues. It definately focuses on the predjudice WITHIN the lesbian community and how we judge each other unfairly! I own this movie and watch it at least 4-5 times a year. The acting isn't great but, it has a meaning that is worth overlooking it's pitfalls. The love story is a nice touch. I recommend this movie to anyone who will watch it and LISTEN to the deeper, more meaningful sections of the story.

great script, good performances and a intelligence and sweetness throughout! Very funny and witty. It takes a few minutes to get into the groove of the movie, but once you are, it's a delightful and often controversial ride. A must see

i'm a bisexual guy who loves this movie, especially thw low-key, but funny and touching performance given by VS Brodie, who's the 'butch' in the main lesbian couple. rose is pretty and everything but if u ask me, its VS who steals the heart of the movie!

The plot is simple, girl looks for girl. Black and white pic. Easy, flows, wonderful. This movie talks about real life, but keeps it distant from what hetties think lesbian life is, or should be. Some stereotypes, but overall good movie.... One of my faves.

I'm not a big-time film buff, but "Go Fish" has been one of my all time favorite flicks since I first set eyes on it so many years ago. I had such an intense connection with the film right from the start that I have never been able to get very involved with deconstructing or criticizing it. Yes, the acting is a bit stilted in parts, but the entire experience was so *real* to me that I could forgive that shortfall. Maybe the "sub-par" acting was just one of the many things that endeared it to me! I can remember the second time I sat down to watch the movie and realizing that I never noticed it was in black and white the first time I watched it! And for the lady who bought this film for her 5-year-old daughter because she thought it was about a child's card game --- duh! You're on Amazon, you're on the internet -- do your homework first! Did you even look at the film rating or read any of the reviews before whipping out your credit card number? *honestly...* Anyway, if you're "in the life," and especially if you're an energetic little journal-writing, people-watching fledgling from the closet, and you're ready for something NOT shiny and unbelievably airbrushed *straight* (pun intended) out of Hollywood, this film is sure to light a fire under you!
