It is good to have another book out on this energetic woman.

To be truthful I haven't read Adventurous Spirit. However, I have studied the life and work of Ellen Henrietta (Swallow) Richards for many years. She was an amazing character and in many ways worthy of continued attention. Richards ventured into chemistry, then unexplored territory for women, and found there opportunity for looking at many domestic processes in new ways in addition to the work valued within chemistry itself. More important she created an opening for other women to enter tertiary education. Even without reading it I can appreciated the existence of another telling of Ellen's story.
