Customer Reviews

  Excellent

This is an excellent book and was sent in great condition i am very pleased.

  Good introduction to accounting

The book does a good job of exploring the basics of accounting. It explains concepts by demonstrating the use of a manual accounting system. The examples are well thought out and easy to understand. Computerized accounting systems are discussed only briefly.

The Excel templates downloaded from the companion website are an excellent resource. They lead you through the preparation of various ledgers, forms and reports. The templates include validation of the user's entries, so you receive immediate feedback when something is entered wrong. If you use the templates to complete the exercises at the end of each chapter, you literally can't go wrong.

The table of contents is rather hard to read. It employs lots of different fonts and colors which make it difficult to find the chapter or topic you are looking for.

The actual book itself uses a lot of graphics, almost to the point where the pages themselves are too noisy. Nevertheless, many of the graphics are helpful and make up for the "graphic noise" on every page.

  Excellent Service

This was the first time I purchased a book on-line (amazon.com). It was a very smooth transaction. The book was in excellent condition and the price was great. I was even assured by the seller that I would have the book in time for my class.

  Basic and to the point

This textbook makes accounting look easy compared to other accounting textbooks I have examined. It covers the basics of accounting and goes right to the point. It has many problems at the end of each chapter that's great for practice and review. It also provides a website you could go to for a quick review and practice quiz.

ACCOUNTING 23e, by Carl S. Warren

Truly an excellent text.
However, please inform the publisher of the following typo errors I have discovered: On page 626, the content inside the 2nd light-green box should be discussing a bond PREMIUM, but instead it's just a cut-and-paste of the 2nd light-green box from page 624 (which properly discusses a bond DISCOUNT). Another typo is located on page 627 in the Business Connection, where the following (incomplete) 'sentence' states: "While Bowie Bonds have fallen on hard times, and are no longer available to the public."
Please let the publisher know that I would like to receive a note letting me know that I am either accurate or not with my constructive critique here.
Many thanks for this opportunity to respond to this quality product.
