Lisa Scottoline Profile Picture

Born in Philadelphia in 1954, Lisa Scottoline completed her undergraduate degree magna cum laude in English from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. After graduating, she pursued her legal career with clerkships in Pennsylvania Superior Court and the United States Court of Appeals and working for a law firm. Scottoline's first novel, Everywhere That Mary Went, was published in 1984. Like the eleven legal suspense novels Scottoline wrote later, the book became a bestseller. Scottoline's second novel, Final Appeal, received an Edgar Award. Nine million copies of her books are in print, available in twenty-three countries. She has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
